I am a proven mentor. One time, an engineer kept failing. I started a pair programming intervention. The language was new to me, but the patterns were familiar. We had it fixed within a single session.

Elevator Pitch

I am a seasoned software engineer with experience AI/ML systems, architecture, management, and security. For my master’s project, I designed + pipelined + tested multiple ML systems backed by Docker.

I have experience both large enterprises, such as Dell EMC (150k+ employees), and agile start-ups of varying sizes. My work spans industries including agriculture (Fort Supply Technologies, LLC), data storage (Dell EMC), education (BYU Independent Study), cryptocurrency/Web3 (Lumen8Labs).

Notable projects include:

Security: Mitigated and prevented datacenter crashes
IaC: Simulated user experiences using thousands of virtual machines
DevEx: Prevented production regressions via in-review code linting
UX: Optimized queries and code to drastically reduce report and page load times for end customers

On a personal note, I built a custom terminal theme for my daily driver. Opening a terminal is the first thing I do when I boot. I am highly proficient with Git. I know merge and rebase proficiently.

Current

Rust is such an interesting language and a breath of fresh air. Huge performance, easy to learn and performant. Coupling it with NixOS has serious potential. The future is now!

Flutter has proven to be everything I wanted in a cross-platform app framework, but ReactJS is still a winner.

All in all, alpha versions can be ready within a day with good planning and decent AI.

Off the clock joys

Piano and foreign languages continue to engage me. After a long work week, relaxing in front of a piano is a welcome endeavor.

Off-season travel is super fun. Carlsbad caverns blew me away. San Diego zoo and hiking are go-to favorites.
