You'd be surprised to hear that his master's is in linguistics.

He studied linguistics and was able to take that understanding of spoken languages to understand details of software languages. No matter what project he is assigned he takes the time to understand the problem in more depth than most. He is then able to solve problems in ways that are mature rather than superficial.

I enjoyed working with Michael. He is a talented engineer. On one of the many projects we worked on together he was able to use docker to virtualize over 1000 VM's and track the results with Elasticsearch. His ability to architect solutions and solve problems allowed us to accomplish many tasks in a short amount of time. His knowledge of Linux and bash shell scripting paid off in finding an issue with some of the docker file systems we were using. If I was looking for a good engineer I would hire Michael to work on my team.
